Adding to our Top 10, there were plenty more big headlines in 2023

You just can’t fit all the news from a year into a top 10 list, like the one running on our front page in this week’s edition of the News Journal.

Mark White is Editor of The News Journal.

Sure, we get the big news events in there, but that doesn’t mean there still weren’t quite a few other interesting and memorable news stories in 2023, such as the death of Corbin native and famed former Eastern Kentucky University football player and head coach Roy Kidd, a Corbin man winning $1 million in the lottery, and the arrest of a Florida man, who falsely claimed there was an active shooter during NIBROC.

Here are a few of some of the other interesting headlines from 2023 that didn’t quite make the top 10 list this year.

Add engaging with local Cooperative Extension to list of New Year resolutions

Over the years, I have been fortunate to have several opportunities to cover events and ongoing efforts taking place at our local Cooperative Extension Office. Trust me when I say there is a lot going on at the Whitley County co-op office, and I like to encourage folks whenever I get the chance to take the time to look into the programs that are being offered.
