W’Burg hot dog eating contest held on July 4

Photos by TIMOTHY WYATT

Independence Day Festivities in Williamsburg included many of the same events residents have come to love over the years, including the annual hot dog eating contest at Kentucky Splash Waterpark. Dozens of contestants both young and old gathered under the big green umbrella near the gift shop to see if they had what it takes to eat the most hot dogs. Following the contest, the yearly duck race was held at the lazy river. The evening was capped by a fireworks display.

Cumberlands announces Spring 2024 President’s List

In recognition of academic performance, the Office of Academic Affairs at University of the Cumberlands has announced the students named to the President’s List for the spring 2024 semester.

To be eligible for the President’s List, students must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours (a full course load), maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 4.0 for the semester, receive an “A” grade in UC Engage, and be in good academic standing. (Note: All students who are named to the President’s List automatically make the Dean’s List, since the Dean’s List requires a minimum semester GPA of 3.5; however, Cumberlands only lists students on either the Dean’s List or the President’s List, to avoid overlap.)
