Being a student-athlete is no easy feat. Being a successful student-athlete is even harder. Breaking records on the playing field while earning academic honors in the classroom? Well, any young man or woman who can accomplish that is truly special.
It was a disappointing night for the Corbin Redhounds, as they lost a heartbreaker to South Laurel, 64-59, in the championship game of this year’s 50th District tournament.
Between Feb. 13-17, students at Corbin Elementary School participated in “Kindness Week,” which guidance counselor JeriKay Wynn explained was a spin on “Random Acts of Kindness Week,” observed each year during the week of Valentine’s Day.
After falling to South Laurel on their own home court in the finals of the 2022 50th District tournament, the Corbin Lady Hounds repaid the favor Thursday night, traveling to London and defeating the Lady Cards, 63-48, in this year’s district title game.
The Corbin High School boys swim team saw a total of four athletes competing in this past weekend’s KHSAA state championships in Lexington, with senior Jason Killian appearing in three separate events.
