New year, new champions. The second News Journal Corn Hole Tournament was another success. News Editor Trent Knuckles and I watched 21 teams battle for the $500 cash prizes, $350 for first and $150 for second.

The Whitley County Lady Colonels volleyball team opened their season on a winning note Thursday night in Lawson Gym. Whitley County won over Harlan County, 25-17, 25-19.
The Corbin volleyball team pulled off a big win Monday night when they downed the North Laurel Lady Jaguars, 25-21, 25-19 at the Corbin Primary School.
