  A Williamsburg man is facing an arson charge in connection with fires on Stringtown Road.

  The Whitley County Sheriff’s Office and one of its deputies are named as defendants in a lawsuit claiming they are responsible for the death of an elderly man this past January.

Incumbent Whitley County Sheriff Colan Harrell fended off challenges from four opponents, including two other sitting office holders, to win re-election to a second term in office Tuesday.

A Corbin man, who allegedly offered $5,000 on a website to have someone killed last year, has been placed on home incarceration and must wear an ankle-monitoring device until his August trial, a judge ruled Thursday morning.

A Rockholds parent is facing felony assault charges over an incident involving two Whitley County High School baseball coaches that occurred during a Tuesday evening ballgame.
