On Dec. 29, Ricky Siler, 50, pleaded guilty to charges in connection with three separate 2021 incidents, according to court records. On Jan. 23, 2021, Williamsburg Police Officer Dorman Patrick charged Siler with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and first-degree possession of a controlled substance (Oxycodone), according to his indictment. The charges stemmed from a traffic stop. On Feb 14, Whitley Circuit Judge Paul Winchester sentenced Siler to a three-year prison sentence on the drug trafficking charge and a one-year prison sentence on the possession charge and ordered the two sentences to be served concurrently, or at the same time, for a total sentence of three years in that case. On April 9, 2021, Whitley County Sheriff’s Deputy Chad Foley charged Siler with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). On June 30, Sheriff’s Sgt. Jonas Saunders charged Siler with second-offense first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). On Feb. 14, Winchester sentenced Siler to serve one-year prison sentences in each of the sheriff’s department’s cases, and ordered those two sentences to be served consecutively, or one after the other, to the Williamsburg Police Department drug trafficking case, for a total sentence of five years in prison. As part of the plea agreement possession of drug paraphernalia charges were dismissed in all three cases. The cases were all prosecuted by the Whitley County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office. “The Williamsburg Police Department will continue to aggressively restrict the availability of illicit drugs, and our officers dedication to slow the flow of illegal drug trafficking will continue,” the police department wrote in a release."}
