About 3 a.m., Deputy Brian Hensley responded to a US25W residence in reference to a domestic violence complaint and was told that Scott Kirklin, 31, had physically assaulted his wife, according to a Whitley County Sheriff\u2019s Department release. Kirklin\u2019s wife, Latosha Kirklin, had left the residence before Hensley arrived and her whereabouts and injuries were unknown at the time. Another man at the residence, Teddy Walter, told police Scott Kirklin allegedly struck him when he tried to get Scott off of Latosha, according to an arrest citation. Hensley detained Scott Kirklin and discovered two needles and what\u2019s believed to be a Suboxone strip on his person, the release stated. Hensley charged Scott Kirklin with fourth-degree assault, fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), third-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. In addition, Hensley served Scott Kirklin with a warrant relating to failure to pay child support, according to the release. Hensley searched the area, but was unable to locate Latosha Kirklin, 26. While Hensley was still in the area, a resident of the home where the domestic disturbance occurred, called 911, and reported that Latosha Kirklin had returned to the residence, according to the release. \u201cShe acknowledged to Deputy Hensley that she had been assaulted,\u201d the release stated. Latasha told police that Scott allegedly grabbed her, hurting her arm causing injury, and she had a cut to her hand, according to the arrest citation. Records also indicated that Latosha Kirklin had a warrant for her arrest relating to failure to pay child support, and she was also arrested, the release stated. Both were lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center. Scott Kirklin is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Whitley District Court."}
