Born in Whitley County, Thelma was the daughter of the late Ranzey E. Stevens and Ada Elizabeth Paul Stevens. She was also preceded in death by her son Wendell Patterson; brothers Charles Stevens, Harold Stevens, Harvey Stevens, and Ranzey Stevens, Jr.; and sister Marie Garland. Thelma enjoyed fishing and was a nature lover who especially loved animals, birds, and flowers. She was a loving mother and grandmother but her greatest love was for her husband, Terry who loved and cared for her continuously. She is survived by her husband Terry Dirr; children Melinda Miller (Norman), Denise Martin (Bo), Jennifer Felts (Chuck), and Sherrie Eversole (Dennis); grandchildren Josh, David, Nikki, Justin, Brittany, Jordan, Austin, Kelsi, Dalton, Felicia, Nolan and John; great-grandchildren Jayden, Luna, Cameron and Sophia; brother Richard Stevens (Trudy) of Corbin; and by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends to mourn her passing. The funeral service was held Friday, October 27, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Cook officiating. Burial was in the Corinth Cemetery.
