On June 26, Kim’s Hometown Pharmacy owner and operator Kimberly Jones was arrested in connection with a 28-count federal indictment stemming from alleged illegal activity at the pharmacy. She is facing 26 counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, and one count each of maintaining a drug involved premises and health care fraud. A federal grand jury indicted Jones on June 14 via a sealed indictment. After Jones arrest on June 26, a federal judge unsealed another June 14 indictment against a second pharmacist at the business. Gary P. McPherson, who worked as a pharmacist at Kim’s Hometown Pharmacy in Williamsburg, was indicted for one count of theft of pre-retail medical products, according to federal court records. On or about May 10, 2018, McPherson allegedly stole pharmaceutical drugs that had not yet been made available to consumers for retail purchase from Kim’s Hometown Pharmacy, according to his indictment. The indictment doesn’t list what the drugs were. If convicted, McPherson is facing up to five years in federal prison, and a $250,000 fine. He would also face up to three years of supervised release once he completes his prison sentence. Jones was served with a criminal summons on June 27, and is scheduled to be arraigned on July 11, at 2:30 p.m. in U.S. District Court in London before Magistrate Judge Hanly A. Ingram. On March 20, Williamsburg police assisted U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency officials in execution of a search warrant at Kim’s Hometown Pharmacy. However, federal officials declined to release any additional information at that time."}
