The application covers an area of approximately 236.72 acres located 0.8 miles of Mud Creek road and the junction with KY 1595. The permit area is approximately 1.5 miles northwest of Frakes, KY, and located 0.8 miles northeast of Mud Creek Road with the junction of KY 1595 and located 1.1 miles southwest of Round Mountain in Whitley County, Kentucky. Cumberland Parkway, Corbin, KY 40701, phone number (606)523-9760, gives notice that blasting operations will be conducted on its coal mine permit number 918-0447, Increment 5 only. The proposed operation is located approximately 0.5 miles north of Perkins, Kentucky, and is approximately 0.80 miles east of the Maple Creek Road junction with Brown Creek Road and located 3.9 miles north of the mouth of Maple Creek. Blasting will be conducted each day Monday through Saturday during daylight hours. No blasting will be conducted after official sunset. This schedule shall be in effect from September 2016, until September 2017. Blasting will be conducted between sunrise and sunset except in emergency situations. Emergency situations include, but are not limited to, lightning, the imminent threat of lightning, or other circumstances that require unscheduled detonation for the safety of the public or miners.
