Whitley County pounded out 16 hits, all singles in the 14-10 win Thursday over Harlan County. Jaycie Monhollen and Ryleigh Petrey each had three hits to lead the way. Makenzie Lunsford pitched the complete game for Whitley County. The Lady Colonels needed just three innings on Friday to get the 18-0 win over Barbourville. Cara Canada had the big bat for Whitley County, notching three hits, including a double, and four RBI\u2019s. Canada and Lunsford combined for the two-hit shutout. Whitley County combined for 18 hits, including three doubles, two triples and a home run, in Monday\u2019s 21-11 win over Middlesboro. Charley Chaney had four hits, while Ryleigh Petrey had three hits, including a home run and six RBI\u2019s. \u201cI want to see my girls continuing to hit,\u201d said Singleton. \u201cI want to see my pitching and my defense step it up a notch. My girls know they are capable of more and they will get there. \u201c Whitley County was scheduled to host Model Tuesday night in a game that had not yet been completed as of press time. The Lady Colonels will host Clay County Thursday and Jackson County Friday before heading to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee to compete in the Cal Ripken Experience beginning Monday. \u201cGoing into spring break I want the girls to improve each time we take the field,\u201d Singleton said.\u00a0 \u201cI think all of the girls and coaching staff is excited to see how it goes.\u201d Corbin Lady Redhounds Corbin has rebounded from its first loss of the season last week with back-to-back wins over Middlesboro and Pineville to improve to 3-1 on the season.The Lady Redhounds got a complete game shutout from Danni Foley to pick up the 8-0 win at Middlesboro last Friday. Foley struck out 15 while walking one and giving up three hits to get the win. Foley led Corbin at the plate with four hits, including two doubles and a home run and three RBI\u2019s. Corbin won its home opener Monday night in dominating fashion, 12-1. The Lady Redhounds used the long ball, getting home runs from Bailey Stewart and Raegan Walker while Foley turned in another solid pitching performance. Corbin was scheduled to host Southwestern Tuesday night in a game that had not yet been completed as of press time. The Lady Redhounds will see their first 50th District opponent on Thursday when they travel to Williamsburg. Corbin will face Bowling Green and Somerset Saturday at Somerset and then have a week off, returning to action on April 11 against Knox Central. Williamsburg Lady Jackets Coach Andrea Winchester\u2019s Williamsburg Lady Jackets have hit a rough patch, losing three straight road games to fall to 2-5 on the season. \u201cRight now, we are beating ourselves,\u201d Winchester said. \u201cNot to take anything away from the teams we have played because they played well and took advantage of our mistakes. We are hitting the ball but when we do we seem to hit it right at the defense.\u00a0 We are also leaving too many people on base. We have the potential to be a good team, we just have to get out of our own heads and produce.\u201d After losing at Bell County last Tuesday, 7-5, the Lady Jackets lost at Lnn Camp on Thursday, 13-3 and at Knox Central on Monday, 11-1. Williamsburg was scheduled to return home Tuesday night to host Jackson County in a game that had not yet been completed as of press time. The Lady Jackets will open 50th District competition Thursday night against Corbin and then travel to McCreary Central on Friday. Williamsburg will take off over spring break and then return to action on April 12 against Pineville in the opening round of the 13th Region All \u201cA\u201d Classic. \u201cOver spring break, we will be practicing and working on our situational defense,\u201d Winchester said. \u201cHopefully we can come out ready to play against Pineville in the All A.\u201d"}
