According to the Jackson County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office, Hudson received an IPO valid for two years. These orders are intended to stop violence and abuse by placing restrictions on a respondent after a court hearing and can last up to three years [courts.ky.gov]. No further court dates were noted in his file. This is in light of news that broke on Friday, Jan. 4, that Hudson was suspended from duty with pay while Kentucky State Police investigate a criminal complaint filed against him.
“We received notification on Dec. 30 that a criminal complaint from Jackson County had been filed against Deputy Hudson. It is being investigated by Kentucky State Police,” confirmed Sheriff Mike Smith. “Hudson was immediately placed on suspension from duty and will remain that way until the outcome of the investigation.”
Kentucky State Police Post 7 confirmed the investigation is active but could not release any further information. “Right now, it’s an open investigation and all we have is a complaint on him. I can’t release any information on it right now but we are actively working on it,” said KSP Post 7 Sergeant Joey Vorbeck. Vorbeck could not give an estimated timeframe as to when the investigation will close. Calls placed to Claude Hudson were not returned. We will continue to follow this case and provide any updates as they are made available."}
