Born on October 5, 1937, in Corbin, KY, Irene touched many lives with her priceless spirit of love and care. She was a faithful caregiver and her selfless devotion in her personal and professional life was a testament to her loving nature. As Helen Keller once said, “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.” This sentiment encapsulates the essence of Irene’s life and legacy. Irene is survived by her children, William “Bill” (Bessie) Wood, Joyce Wood, and Polla (David) Price. She was a proud grandmother to Medgitt “Bubba” Wood, IV, Jason (Tonya) Wood, Jarrod Wood, Joseph (Cynthia) Wood, Dillon Wood, Andrew (Kerrigan) Fox, Dakota Gay, and Jessica (David) Ison. She also leaves behind seventeen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, three brothers, and a sister. Several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Lula Callihan; her beloved husband, Dennis Noe; her son, Medgitt “Butch” Wood, III; and grandsons, Gage Fox, Dale Brown, Daniel Brown, and Joshua Fox. A visitation for Irene will be held on Wednesday, November 8, at 2:00 pm at the Croley Funeral Home, located at 103 South 2nd Street, Williamsburg, Kentucky. This will be followed by a funeral service at the same venue at 3:00 pm with Pastor, Doug Walden and Kerrigan Fox. The interment will occur promptly at 4:00 pm at the Ryan Cemetery, Williamsburg, Kentucky. As Maya Angelou put it, “A great soul serves everyone all the time. A great soul never dies. It brings us together again and again.” Irene’s soul was indeed great, and her memory will continue to bring us together. We encourage friends and family to share their cherished memories of Irene and upload photos to the memorial page to celebrate her remarkable life and the love she shared with all of us. Croley Funeral Home in charge of arrangements."}
