Corbin and Bell County met at Knox Central in the Kentucky 2A Section 7 Tournament. Kallie Housley led the Lady Redhounds with 12 points. Darcie Anderson added 10. Corbin was scheduled to travel to Whitley County Tuesday night for a game that had not yet been completed as of press time. The Lady Redhounds will be back on the road Tuesday at South Laurel. Whitley County Lady Colonels The Whitley County Lady Colonels are looking to rebound from the holiday tournaments in which they lost three of five games, including two of three in Daytona Beach, Florida. The Lady Colonels opened the Daytona Beach Sunshine Classic with a 61-21 loss to Louisville Christian Academy. Whitley County bounced back with a 59-2 victory over Atlantic, Florida. Fourteen Lady Colonels got into the scoring column led by Marissa Douglas with 12 points. Eleven Whitley County players hauled down rebounds in the game. The Lady Colonels wrapped up the tournament Thursday against fellow Kentucky team Owsley County, losing to the Lady Owls, 54-46. Douglas led the Lady Colonels with 12 points. Despite the losses, Coach Sean Pigman said he was happy with the effort of his team. “The kids played hard and had the chance to become closer as a team and we got a little bit healthier,” Pigman said Whitley County was scheduled to host Corbin Tuesday night in a game that had not yet been completed as of press time. The Lady Colonels will be back on the road Friday night at Pineville. Whitley County will return home Tuesday night to face Leslie County. Pigman said that senior guard Chelsey Logan, who has missed four games, returned to action at Daytona Beach. “Chelsey is back now which not only gives us more depth, but she brings great effort each night which is also helpful,” Pigman said. “Pineville is always tough at their place and Leslie County returns their top three players from a very good squad last year,” Pigman said. “I really like how we have practiced the last few days. The kids have really competed and worked hard.” Williamsburg Lady Jackets The Williamsburg Lady Jackets were eliminated from the 13th Region All “A” Tournament Monday night with a 67-35 loss to Middlesboro. Williamsburg will look to snap a two-game losing streak Saturday afternoon when the Lady Jackets travel to Burgin. Tipoff is set for 3:30 p.m. Williamsburg will be back at home Monday night to face Wellspring Guardians home school. “To bounce back, I think we have to figure out what motivates us,” said Coach Randy Crider. “We were doing better and playing harder together over the two games against Lynn Camp and Harlan but they took two steps back against Middlesboro and it was just an effort thing. With the upcoming games I want to see a since of urgency from everyone. We need a fire lit under us and get a move on.”"}
