Whitley County Emergency Management Director Danny Moses said the car manufacturer shipped 500 of the plastic face guards, which arrived Monday. Moses handed out approximately 400 to law enforcement, firefighters, and EMS personnel Tuesday. “I have a few left over that I’m going to put up as replacements,” Moses said. Moses explained that the masks are designed to fit snugly around the forehead and cover the entire face. “If someone is throwing up, or blood is squirting from an injury, it will protect the eyes, nose and mouth,” Moses said. “I wouldn’t be afraid to wear it anywhere.” Moses said the masks came straight from the corporation after he emailed a request for them. He did so, after seeing an email from someone else who made a similar request from the company. “We are very appreciative of Ford for doing this,” Moses said. “A lot of these departments couldn’t afford to purchase these on their own.” "}
