According to the National Weather Service, the Cumberland River had risen to 31.28 feet as of 7:30 a.m. Friday. It is expected to crest at 32.5 feet at 7 a.m. Saturday. Major flood stage is considered to be 32 feet. The record flood in Williamsburg occurred on April 7, 1977, when the Cumberland River crested at 35.03 feet.
