He was born in Harlan,  to the late Willard and Montine Jump Black on May 5, 1947. Mr. Black was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He attended Frankfort Baptist Church in Corbin. He was preceded in death by a brother Butch Black of Corbin. He is survived by his daughter, Olivia Dawn Myers and son-in-law Derrick Myers, of  Corbin, his friend and former wife, Mary Ellen Hickey Black, of Corbin; sisters Marianne Easley of Jeffersonville IN; Jean (Bobby) Storms;  Sue (Dennis) Croley; and Joyce (Tommy) Storms,  all of Corbin; brother Terry Black of Louisville and a host of nephews, nieces and special friends to mourn his passing. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Frankfort Baptist Church on Bee Creek Rd. in Corbin, Wednesday Sept. 7, 2016 at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Clark Funeral Home in Versailles is in charge of the arrangements.
