Harkness, working on the Kentucky Mansion Celebration project. They were asked if the Redbud Trail Quilt Guild could make and donate two twin size quilts for a guest bedroom at the Lieutenant Governor’s Mansion in Frankfort, Ky. Visiting dignitaries would use the room. The quilts needed to be alike or very similar since they will be in the same room and each big enough to cover a twin bed. The log cabin pattern was requested as part of the decorators theme for the room. The biggest part of the challenge was that the quilts couldn’t be started until June 16 and they needed to be in place by July 24.
