Born in Whitley County, Phyllis was the daughter of the late Herbert Young and Wilma Martin Young. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Whippoorwill Pentecostal Church. Phyllis is survived by her husband Ralph E. Skidmore; children Kimberly Bennett (Shawn), Miranda Richardson (David), and Elzie Medrano; grandchildren Tyler Black, Makenzie Black, Shawn Bennett, Austin Bennett, Braydon Bennett, Dakota Nicely, Madalyn Richardson and Maddox Richardson who is expected soon; brothers and sisters: Larry Young, Lewis Young, Denver Young, Wanda Poe, and Linda Jordan; and many nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held Saturday, May 20, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Lee officiating. Burial was in the Young Cemetery on Bee Creek Rd.
