She was born on August 24, 1947 in Whitley County, to the late John Hubbard and Sally (Epperson) Hubbard. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Sammy Steele and sister, Hallie White. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Halstead (Sam) of Danville, IA; son, Sammy Neil Steele, Jr. of Portland, OR; four grandchildren, Samantha, Shawn, Jordyn, and Caylynn; one great grandchild, Terry; sister, Elizabeth Hubbard of Corbin; brothers, Green Tom Hubbard of Williamsburg, Hobert Hubbard (Myrtle) of Williamsburg, Archie Hubbard (Hattie) of Williamsburg, Sherman Hubbard (Debbie) of Paducah, and Johnny Hubbard (Pam) of Williamsburg; many nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing. The funeral service was held Tuesday, December 20, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.  Ronald Canada officiating. She was laid to rest in the Ryans Cemetery.
