Corbin Police Major Rob Jones, the department’s public affairs officer, said police received a tip that 31-year-old Timothy Crumpler was parked in a vehicle outside the Burger King on Cumberland Falls Highway. About 4 p.m., Officer Kyle Trosper responded, finding Crumpler and taking him into custody without incident. A Whitley County grand jury indicted Crumpler in April on charges of first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy and second-degree persistent felony offender. According to the indictment, Crumpler is accused of engaging in sexual intercourse with the child, who was under the age of 12 at the time, between October 1, 2014 and December 15, 2015. Kentucky State Police Detective Mark Allen conducted the investigation and presented his findings to the grand jury. When Crumpler failed to appear in court for the return of indictments on April 18, an indictment warrant of arrest was issued. Cumpler is being held without bond in the Whitley County Detention Center. Crumpler is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Whitley Circuit Court.
