</html><description>&nbsp; &nbsp;NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MINE Pursuant to Application Number 861-5337, Renewal In accordance with KRS 350.055, notice is hereby given that Alden Resources LLC 332 West Cumberland Gap Parkway, Suite 100, Corbin, Kentucky 40701 has applied for renewal of a permit for an underground coal mining operation located 2.0 miles northeast of Goins in Knox County and Whitley counties.&nbsp; The proposed operation will disturb 34.47 surface acres and will underlie 1,134.23 acres and the total area within the permit boundary will be 1,168.7 acres. The proposed operation is approximately 3.3 miles east from KY Hwy. 92&rsquo;s junction with Harpes Creek Road and located along Harpes Creek. The proposed operation is located on the Frakes, KY 7&frac12; minute quadrangle map.&nbsp; The surface area to be disturbed is owned by Gatliff Coal Company, Arnold T. Goins, Antony Greene, Alton Wilson, Lisa Fuson Brock, Freda Barnett and Cleveland Wilson Heirs.&nbsp; The operation will underlie land owned by Gatliff Coal Company, Arnold T. Goins, Alton Wilson, Begley Properties, LLC, Bryant Mahan, Jim Lambdin, Henry &amp; Doris Lee, Leonard &amp; Louise Lee, Lisa Fuson Brock, Ataya Hardwoods, Freda Barnett and Cleveland Wilson Heirs. This application covers an area of 15.7 acres of surface area and is located 4.0 miles north of the community of Louden, KY in Knox and Whitley Counties. The permit area is approximately 0.4 mile southwest from KY Route 1418&rsquo;s junction with Hubbs Hollow Road and 0.7 mile southwest of Mackey Cemetery. The latitude is 36&deg; 48&rsquo; 52&rdquo;. This hearing will be canceled if the Cabinet does not receive a request in writing for the public hearing by July 31, 2010. &nbsp; CITY OF WILLIAMSBURG, KENTUCKY ORDINANCE NO. 10-001 AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO CLOSING A PORTION OF CUMBERLAND AVENUE THAT RUNS BEHIND THE BOSWELL STUDENT CENTER AND UNDERNEATH THE VIADUCT AND DEAD ENDS AT THE VIADUCT. WHEREAS, this portion of street is one way and primarily leads into the parking lot of the Student Center and is a very low lying area that has poor drainage and floods quite often; WHEREAS, the roadway is broken apart and the ditching is not handling the storm water run off; WHEREAS, the University of the Cumberlands would like to raise the grade of the street, install new storm drainage and let the street dead end into the parking lot at the Viaduct; WHEREAS, the University at its cost would widen the street to be two way from 9th to the parking lot at the Viaduct and would rebuild the City&rsquo;s sanitary sewer line and storm drainage; WHEREAS, this would have no impact on the 8th Street side of the Viaduct but that the University would insure that the new storm drainage would be properly tied in and would not over tax the City&rsquo;s system on down the line toward 8th Street and a storm detention system be installed to control the run off as the University did on Main Street at the Harth Hall site; WHEREAS, the University owns the property on both sides of the street in this area, there would be no impact to any private residences; WHEREAS, the University would in the future build sidewalks on this new two way street from 9th to the Viaduct giving the City of Williamsburg a newly built street and a storm drainage control system in this area; and WHEREAS, this would benefit both the University of the Cumberlands and the City of Williamsburg, the City Council desires to accept this request. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF WILLIAMSBURG, KENTUCKY, as follows: Section One: That a portion of Cumberland Avenue that runs behind the Boswell Student Center and underneath the Viaduct be closed and dead ended at the Viaduct with all the stipulations as stated above.
