Theatre Director Brandise Grimes said the play featuring students in grades 5-8 will be staged at the Betty Hamilton Center for the Performing Arts. “We have had a larger than expected interest in the show and the Corbin Center would not be able to accommodate the audience,” Grimes said in explaining the move. The show is scheduled for one performance at 7 p.m. The performance includes a series of individual vignettes based on some of the writer’s most famous works including: “The Tell-Tale Heart,” “The Masque of the Red Death,” “The Cask of Amontillado,” “The Oval Portrait,” and “Mr. Valdemar.” Poe and his pet raven will introduce each of the vignettes in an homage to Alfred Hitchcock. In Hitchcock’s classic television series, “Alfred Hitchcock Presents:” Hitchcock would open the show with a brief commentary. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students. All proceeds go to help fund future productions.
