About 4 p.m., Whitley County E911 received a complaint that a maroon Dodge Durango had two male and one female occupant inside, who appeared to be under the influence or unconscious. Upon arrival, deputies found two men and a woman, who were not alert and in their undergarments, according to a sheriff’s department release. One occupant, David Allen Randle, 30, of Corbin was recognized as a wanted person. Deputy Jonas Saunders had previously obtained an arrest warrant for Randle, which included charges of fleeing or evading police and wanton endangerment due to a July 2016 incident. Randle was charged with numerous offenses and lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center. It is unclear what charges stem from Sunday’s incident, and what charges stem from five other cases. The woman, Chelsea Cornett, 24, of Evarts, and the other male occupant, Daniel Melton, 29, of Corbin, were also taken into custody. Cornett was arrested and charged with second-degree disorderly conduct and public intoxication. Melton was charged with first-degree disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and public intoxication. Cornett was released from jail on bond Monday. Melton was released from jail on a $500 cash bond Tuesday. Randle is being held in jail in lieu of a $10,000 cash bond in connection with a prior 2015 misdemeanor case and $5,000 cash bond in connection with a prior 2016 felony case, according to the detention center’s website. Saunders, Deputy James Taber and Kentucky State Police Trooper Jeremy Elliott were all involved in Sunday’s investigation.
