Brittany Alyssa Reeves-Fleenor, 29, passed away Friday, April 29, at Baptist Health Lexington following complications after giving birth. She is survived by her husband, Cory Matthew Fleenor and her two children, Jonah Matthew Fleenor and Kennedy Faith Fleenor. Williamsburg High School Principal Dr. Amon Couch said that Fleenor, a Williamsburg graduate, had taught kindergarten at the school for about five years. &#x201C;She was one of these people that you never saw without a smile on her face. She loved her job,&#x201D; Couch said. &#x201C;She loved her kids. She poured everything that she had into her students. She was just a good person and a good colleague. Everybody loved her.&#x201D; In addition, she was also the head women&#x2019;s tennis coach. &#x201C;She did other things than just besides teaching,&#x201D; Couch noted. Couch said that the faculty and staff decided to come to school really early Monday morning and held a brief memorial service about 7 a.m. &#x201C;I would say 90 percent of them were here. Many of our local pastors were here. We had a time of prayer together,&#x201D; Couch said. The doors to the school were opened about 7:15 a.m. because the staff wanted to make the day as normal as possible for the students even though it wasn&#x2019;t. &#x201C;We had a good day of school considering everything,&#x201D; Couch noted. &#x201C;There was a lot of crying. There was a lot of shedding of tears, and some laughter remembering her in the good times and good memories.&#x201D; Couch said that if he had to sum up the day in one word, it would be &#x201C;thoughtful&#x201D;. &#x201C;We were just remembering her, thinking about her, just trying to wrap our heads around something that doesn&#x2019;t make a lot of sense,&#x201D; Couch noted. Couch said that Fleenor was at the school until about two weeks ago when her doctor put her on bed rest. Several pastors and mental health counselors from Cumberland River Behavioral Health were on hand at the school Monday to provide grief counseling that some at the school utilized. &#x201C;She was deeply connected to so many kids that there were kids affected by this, but the adults are struggling the most with this. They needed more help today but in the days ahead it will shift more to the kids. People miss her,&#x201D; Couch said Monday afternoon. Williamsburg schools closed about noon Tuesday so that students, faculty and staff could attend the funeral at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Fred Powers, Rev. Bill Wright and Dr. Jerry Lowrie officiating. After the funeral service she was laid to rest in the Croley Addition of Highland Park Cemetery. The &#x201C;Fund for Cory and Brittany Fleenor&#x2019;s Babies,&#x201D; which was set up on the crowd source funding site youcaring.com, had received $4,714 towards its $10,000 goal as of noon Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, the family requested that donations be made to the Fleenor Scholarship Fund for the Twins. The donations can be mailed to 703 Redbird Road, Williamsburg.</description></oembed>
