Slaven, died July 1, 2019 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Born Nov. 24, 1948 in Corbin, KY, she was the daughter of Geneva Smith Palmer and the late Thomas W. Palmer. Mrs. Slaven retired from the U.S. Government as an accountant with AAFES (Army & Air Force Exchange Service) and also from Blue Star Plastics. She was an avid reader and loved couponing. Survivors include two children: daughter, Sondra (Jeff) Leet, and son, Ronnie (Alyssa) Slaven, Jr.; four grandchildren, Brittany Leet, Scott Leet, Jake Steele, and Maya Slaven; and nephew, Danny (Marketta) Gray. In addition to her father and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Gray. Funeral services were held Friday, July 5 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. by Pastor Russell Wethington, Jr. Burial followed in Lexington Cemetery.
