She was born March 5, 1928 in Whitley County, to the late Alfred Morton and the late Ruth Rains Morton. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary Lawson, a granddaughter, Emily Lawson, a brother, Carl Morton, a sister, Orene Prewitt and a nephew, Ronald Taylor. She is survived by her husband Perry Lawson of Williamsburg; daughter Greta Rains (Larry) of Corbin; two sons, Alvin Lawson (Jennifer) of Goodwater, AL, Kevin Lawson of Williamsburg; five grandchildren, Stephanie Fox, Neal Lawson, Cole Lawson, Hannah Yeager, and Matthew Lawson; sister, Ethel Taylor of Clinton, TN, nephew Robert Taylor of Indiana, and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. Graveside services were held Thursday, December 15, at the Suttons Mill Cemetery.
